Thank you for considering a charitable gift in support of the synagogue. We have included this information sheet in order to make the donation process easier for congregants.

Gifts may be unrestricted or earmarked to the General Fund, Capital Campaign, Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund or another purpose of the donor’s choosing. Additionally, multi-year pledge commitments can be made at any time or one can choose to make a one-time current donation. The congregation’s fiscal year runs from July 1st and ends June 30th.

Additionally, members may wish to retain an interest in their gift, such as the right to receive income from it, or to give a planned gift through an estate. Gifts of cash, securities or property provide the synagogue with much-needed financial assistance. Below are additional ways you can support Congregation Bet Ha’am and enjoy tax or income benefits. Please consult your attorney or tax advisor for further details.

Appreciated Securities

A gift of long-term, appreciated marketable securities helps you save taxes twice. Such a gift will provide an income charitable deduction and eliminate capital gains taxes.

Stock Gift Transfer Instructions

To send stock by wire transfer (DTC), please notify your broker of the following information:

  • Please specify that the gift is for "the benefit of Congregation Bet Ha’am" and include the donor's name and the gift designation (i.e. Capital Campaign) on the transfer instructions.
  • Our Charles Schwab Routing Code is DTC 0164 Code 40. The securities should be transferred to the Congregation Bet Ha’am account number 4204-5672.
  • At the time you arrange the transfer please call Pam Denutte (879.0028 or pam@bethaam.org) to let her know the identity of the transferred security. In order to receive the proper acknowledgment for tax purposes, please give us your name, even if it is to be an anonymous gift.

Gifts with Retained Interest or Planned Gifts

Planned gifts enable you to retain an interest in your gift for your lifetime or for a specified term of years. After that time, the funds become available to Congregation Bet Ha’am. For example, you can establish a trust that allows you to receive income from that trust for a specified period or for life.

You can also recognize Congregation Bet Ha’am by giving a gift in your will. Your attorney or financial professional can help you structure a gift that meets your financial needs and charitable objectives.

If you have any questions please contact Pam Denutte at pam@bethaam.org or 879.0028.
