On April 28 at 6PM, Bet Ha’am will be hosting our annual fundraiser Gala Dinner, A Storied Affair.
Over an indulgent, five-course meal, you’ll be invited to enjoy the words of a few talented authors who are coming to share their works of short fiction, poetry, and essay.

Over the past 6 weeks, 53 Maine authors have submitted 71 unique written works. From that group, we’ve selected some phenomenal works to share with you during one amazing, inspirational evening. Over the next few weeks, you’ll be introduced to the authors and get a glimpse of the stories they’ll be sharing.
But today, for now, I’d like to share with you our menu for A Storied Affair:
- Our appetizer course will be Ceviche, a citrus cured fish dish from Peru
- Our soup course will be Zucchini and Potato Soup with Tarragon and Chevril
- For a salad, we will be enjoying a Fire Roasted Romaine Heart with a warm Mustard Thyme Dressing.
- You will have a choice of main course:

- Roasted Lamb with Mint Chimichurri with brown butter radishes
- Filet Mignon with Balsamic Glaze and garlic smashed potatoes
- Stuffed Kumra with Chickpeas and Kale and seasonal vegetables
- For Dessert,we’re going to do something special: Our community provides so much sweetness and joy, and we thought there would be no better way for us to honor each other than by sharing desserts made by members of our community.
