Landon Krandall

(he/they) lives in South Portland with his dog Wiggles. He is an Ed.D. Candidate at Northeastern University and will defend his dissertation in Fall 2025. With a career background in K-12 education, Landon currently works as a bookseller at Back Cove Books in Portland while completing their doctorate. Having served on numerous committees including Maine’s North Star YA Award committee, a student book award encouraging 9-12 graders to read for fun, has allowed them the opportunity to engage with communities and celebrate their passions.

Landon began attending Bet Ha’am in January 2022 and has attended Friday Shabbat and holidays most every opportunity since. Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, he moved to New England to attend college at UNH and moved to Maine in 2018. He came to Bet Ha’am seeking community and further connection to both spirituality and family history. Landon’s partner, Ashton (he/him), will sometimes join in the festivities at Bet Ha’am and enjoys learning more about Judaism through the experience. In Landon’s free time he is an avid reader of books and reads on average over 100 books a year. They can also be found exploring coffee shops, enjoying the beach, appreciating the view on a hike, spending time with loved ones, or traveling whenever and wherever possible
