Membership Details
Support through membership dues and volunteerism is essential to sustaining the mission of Congregation Bet Ha’am. Please consider joining our community and gaining access to the many benefits of membership. While financial contributions are essential, all are welcome to be part of our congregation.
Below are details specific to the mechanism to renew or become new members. If you're interested in learning more we encourage you to learn more about various membership benefits. As an organization committed to transparency we've also made our EOY financial statement public. If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
Considerations for Choosing a Membership Category
Congregation costs are substantial and include clergy and staff salaries, religious school, day to day physical plant needs, longer term maintenance and repairs of both buildings, events, gathering and programming, and, of great importance at this time, security.
The goal of the congregation is to function in such a way that all community members can be served, no matter their capacity to pay. If membership dues are a hardship, please use the appropriate form below to adjust your membership commitment. There will be an option in the form to denote if you’d like to have a private conversation with congregation leadership.
As you determine your membership commitment, please consider the categories above, or, as discussed by the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), consider an amount that reflects 1.5 - 2% of your income.

Chanukah

We are excited to celebrate Chanukah in person this year at our family-friendly "Light Up the Night" event! Families will bring their own menorahs and candles to join together in celebrating the miracle of God’s light. The evening will be filled with the delicious aroma of potato latkes, lively music, songs to sing, a family-friendly story, and hands-on crafts that everyone can enjoy. It promises to be a joyful night of community, creativity, and light!
We also traditionally have a holiday sale in our gift shop: candles of all kinds, jewelry, decorations, and chanukah menorahs.
Learners' Shabbat
Perhaps you are new to Jewish worship. Perhaps you’ve been coming to Shabbat services for years. Either way, Rabbi Saks hopes that you’ll join us each year for our Learners’ Shabbat. Don’t be fooled by the name: everyone is welcome.
We will cover the structure of the service, the meanings of the prayers, and the choreography of worship. But we will also explore deeper questions. What does it mean to pray? What is the purpose of prayer? How can prayer draw us closer to each other and to God? When is prayer challenging? Is it okay if we don’t believe in God?
Prayer and Shabbat services can serve many purposes. Come explore what being together in worship might mean for you.
